The New York Jets were defeated 23-10 by the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday's Week 12 contest.
The 2-9 Jets are currently embarking on a lackluster 10-game streak. The latest loss represented the 10th consecutive time the Jets have lost a game despite scoring first, according to ESPN.

Two more such occurrences and the Jets will own the all-time record:
The Jets lost despite drawing first blood. What started as a defensive battle, the Jets' fourth offensive possession was a 12-play, 79-yard scoring drive that concluded with a 13-yard TD pass from Tyrod Taylor to wide receiver John Metchie III. New York took a 7-3 lead into halftime, but two Derrick Henry rushing touchdowns gave the Ravens a third quarter advantage they'd never squander.

The same occurred versus the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos in Weeks 5 and 6. In Week 11 versus the New England Patriots, it was a Justin Fields rushing touchdown that put the Jets up 7-0, but they ultimately lost 27-14.
Five of the Jets' 10-game losing streak despite scoring first have occurred under head coach Aaron Glenn this season. The rebuilding Jets are still learning how to close out games. It'll remain an ongoing process.
