Jodie continues meddling (Picture: ITV)
Psychos are like trams in Coronation Street. No sooner has one left, another one comes along… and probably takes out half of Weatherfield in a deadly crash. That tram is called Jodie Ramsay (Olivia Frances-Brown), and her sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) should be very scared indeed.
We’ve barely said goodbye to bunny-boiling bad cop Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) when along comes another femme fatale with an axe to grind. Enter Jodie Ramsay, who made a dramatic entrance to Soapland during the explosive events of Corriedale, when she escaped from the back of a van during Corrie after being held captive by legendary Emmerdale villain Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).
Eagle-eyed viewers were quick to spot that this mysterious newcomer shared a distinctive tattoo with Shona, establishing a firm link between the two characters. After some light stalking of Shona and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) in hospital with their newborn baby harper, Jodie finally made introductions and revealed that she is Shona’s sister.
While David was happy to open their home to Jodie, Shona was less keen. Afte a difficult birth and health concerns for baby Harper, family drama is the last thing they need. However, Jodie remained hopeful for a reunion. “I can’t help thinking there’s a reason I found you again.’ She said ‘Like the universe bringing us together or summat.’

The universe must have a very dark sense of humour. Upcoming episodes will reveal that Jodie blames Shona leaving her to suffer at the hands of their toxic parents and abandoning her in her hour of need. Jodie is out for revenge. Her weapon of choice? Shona’s step-daughter – Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft Gardner)
On Monday January 22, Jodie eagerly volunteers to help Lily with her self-portrait, and uses bonding with her niece as an opportunity to drip poison in her ear about Shona.
On Wednesday 23, Jodie’s chance to blacken Shona’s name with Lily further is interrupted when Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) comes into the café… and a panicked Jodie does a runner. What has she got to hide?
When a suspicious Shona questions Kit the next day, he reveals that Jodie was in the woods on the night of the crash, her wrists were bound, she appeared to be running away from someone and was clearly terrified. Shona’s shocked.
It was soon revealed that Jodie is Shona’s sister (Picture: ITV)
Meanwhile, Jodie goes to a domestic violence support group at the community centre. She listens as a woman called Ellie describes the horrific abuse she suffered at the hands of her partner.
Suddenly, Shona and David get a call from Bethany saying Jodie is in the house having a meltdown. What is going on? Shona listens as Jodie unloads.

‘She’s a complicated character and she comes with a lot of baggage.’ Kate explains. ‘Their relationship as sisters is quite fraught and there’s a lot of history between them. There’s some kind of deep-seated resentment there as well. They love each other, they do have that bond and even though they’ve been estranged for a number of years that bond is still very strong.’
‘Jodie is a really interesting character. She’s a bit of a troublemaker, she’s got a bit of mischief in her eyes. All is not what it seems with Jodie and there’s a lot of layers to her.
