The Bruins won for the seventh time in their last eight games, getting off to a fast start on the way to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Seattle Kraken. Jeremy Swayman made 26 saves, and Marat Khusnutdinov and Viktor Arvidsson each scored in the first 3:45 of the game as Boston never trailed. Charlie McAvoy assisted on a pair of goals, Mark Kastelic netted a shorthanded tally, and David Pastrňák sealed the outcome with an empty-netter with 15 seconds left.
Nick Foligno got Chicago off to a solid start, lighting the lamp just 2:38 into the contest, but that was all the Blackhawks would get in a 3-1 loss to the visiting Calgary Flames on Thursday night. It was Chicago’s second straight loss and its third in the last four games.
Boston can seal a season sweep of the Blackhawks after winning 4-3 in overtime at home back on Oct. 9. Morgan Geekie leads the Bruins with 25 goals, while Pastrňák has 20 markers and a team-best 57 points. Swayman is 19-11-2 in 33 games, and 32 starts with a shutout, a .905 save percentage, and 2.77 goals against average. Tyler Bertuzzi’s 24 goals lead the Blackhawks, while Connor Bedard has 19 to go with a team-high 46 points. Spencer Knight is 13-13-6 in 32 starts, posting two shutouts, a .910 save percentage, and 2.61 GAA.
