By Matthew CoudenShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberAmid a strong chance to reach the Super Bowl behind Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills suffered a crushing loss in their AFC Divisional Round game against the Denver Broncos, 33-30.
The game went to overtime, with the Bills having a chance to win on a field goal, but Allen's deep pass was called an interception.
Broncos quarterback Bo Nix began marching the ball down the field, and a costly pass interference near the end zone gave Denver the victory on a game-winning field goal.
Many fans called out the referees for what they deemed inaccurate or bad calls against the Bills. Others suggested that the fault lay with Allen for failing to complete the right passes and turning the ball over several times.

...However, many playoff losses tend to fall on the team's head coach and coaching staff. That was fully seen with the Philadelphia Eagles' loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round, as the Eagles promptly fired offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.
That was the case with many fans online who vented about getting rid of head coach Sean McDermott and other coaches who played a part in another disappointing campaign for Buffalo.
Their reactions arrived on a Buffalo Bills X post showing evidence of the loss, as evidenced by the disappointing 33-30 final score.
"Time to move on from McDermott, it's the same thing every year," an X commenter wrote as a reply.
"This is on MCDERMOTT BEANE AND BRADY. All year with the bulls***!!!! Yes the refs f***ed us but with better leadership this never would have gotten to this point," a frustrated commenter wrote.
"How many more years does Sean McDermott get to coach a team to disappointment?" an X commenter asked.
"F***ING FIRE MCDERMOTT," another upset commenter said.
McDermott has been the Bills' head coach since 2017 and holds a 98-50 record. They've made the postseason in each of his nine seasons as coach except for one, and never advanced farther than the AFC Championship Game.
Something clearly has to change for the Buffalo Bills, as they continue to fall short of expectations despite having one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Whether that means roster moves, McDermott, or other coaches getting fired remains to be seen, but stay tuned for the fallout after this loss.
