Sisqó's 'Thong Song' Reimagined for Toyota...

In a move so scandalous they just hope new car buyers can handle it, Toyota has teamed up with multi-platinum artist Sisqó to remake "Thong Song" for a new ad campaign.

The automaker, its agency, and Sisqó worked together to change the lyrics of the 1999 smash hit to fit with the annual, family-friendly Toyotathon sales event. The new version of the song is called, “The Thon Song.” The reimagined hook: “Toyotathon-thon-thon-thon-thon…”

“When Toyota asked me to reimagine my song for the holidays, I knew it was an opportunity to have some fun with it,” Sisqó told Newsweek. “’The Thon Song’ is my way of showing love to the fans who keep Toyotathon moving year after year. I hope it brings some laughter and joy to the season.”

“The Thon Song” is a 2:06 ear-catching tune that will be available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music, following the debut of a 15-second version of the song that is part of the “Everywhere Remix” ad spot on Christmas Day during Netflix’s NFL coverage. It can also be seen on YouTube.

The ad was created by multi-tool firm Saatchi & Saatchi.

Toyota uses the annual year-end sales push to not sell dump trucks, but to advertise its Camry, Prius, and Corolla cars, and Tacoma and Tundra trucks. Camry, Corolla and Tacoma are among the best-selling vehicles in the U.S.

Toyota was the global automotive sales leader in 2025, marking five consecutive years of holding the top spot, selling 10.82 million vehicles. The automaker is on pace for similar sales results in 2025, and hoping that customers cruise to the grooves to connect to the dotted line taking home a new Toyota this holiday season.

When “Thong Song” listening was in its prime, it peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2000 in early summer and stayed on the chart for a total of 19 weeks. Though largely derided by critics, the song became a cultural touchstone for millennials.
