Heading into the New Year's Day matchup against Indiana, the Crimson Tide have their work cut out for them. Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers enter the playoff as the top-seeded team in the country.

Throughout the course of the 2025 season, Simpson has turned into a star for the Crimson Tide. He has put his name on the map as a top-tier prospect ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Ty Simpson, Alabama Crimson Tide...

With that being said, a surprising new prediction has emerged before Alabama faces off against Indiana regarding Simpson's future.

CBS Sports analyst Mike Renner has revealed where he thinks Simpson will get drafted. In his most recent mock draft, Renner has predicted that the Los Angeles Rams will take Simpson with the No. 10 overall pick.

Of course, the Rams taking Simpson would be a move to have a long-term replacement for Matthew Stafford.

"The Rams won't be drafting top 10 anytime soon as long as Sean McVay is their head coach. Because of that, they may take a swing on their next franchise quarterback to apprentice Matthew Stafford in the meantime," Renner wrote. "Simpson has shown flaws of late in his first season as a starter, but there's more than enough flashes from him to get excited about what he could become."

So far this season, Simpson has completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 3,500 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. He has been the main driving force behind the Crimson Tide offense.

Landing with Los Angeles would be a great situation for Simpson. He would get to learn behind Stafford and play for one of the NFL's best head coaches in Sean McVay. Right now, the Rams are also one of the best teams in the league.

While this is just a prediction, Simpson being selected by Los Angeles does seem like a very real possibility.
