By Cole SullivanShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Pittsburgh Steelers escaped Detroit on Sunday with a thrilling — and certainly controversial — 29–24 victory over the Lions after Detroit wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was called for offensive pass interference on fourth-and-goal with no time remaining, a penalty that ultimately ended the game.
While it was a big win for the Steelers, improving them to 9–6 and keeping them atop the AFC North, some off-field drama may be brewing for star wide receiver DK Metcalf following a first-half incident with a Lions fan.
Metcalf was seen standing face-to-face with a Lions fan who was leaning down toward him from the stands. Before walking away, Metcalf appeared to throw a quick, light punch in the fan’s direction — a moment that quickly went viral on social media.

After the game, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the situation, making it clear that while he had heard about the altercation, he had not yet seen the video.
"I heard about it but I haven't seen it," Tomlin said. "I haven't had the opportunity to talk to DK, and so I have no comment."
...The referees did not see the incident, which meant there was no flag on the play. Many wondered why Metcalf wasn’t ejected; however, without a penalty being called, officials had no grounds to remove him from the game.
Metcalf hauled in just one of his six targets in the first half but finished the game with four catches for 42 yards.
