Kentucky rolled through its Lexington regional, losing one set and sweeping Creighton in the final on Saturday, 25-19, 25-13, 25-18. Brooklyn DeLeye booked 18 kills while Eva Hudson finished with 13 kills and 15 digs. Lizzie Carr made five blocks, Molly Tuozzo logged 17 digs, and Kassie O’Brien popped up 40 assists as the Wildcats return to the Final Four for just the second time and the first since winning the 2020-21 national championship.
Wisconsin, the No. 3 seed in the Austin regional, followed up a win over second-seeded Stanford in the Sweet Sixteen with a 3-1 victory over top-seeded Texas on Sunday, 25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 25-19. Mimi Colyer paced the attack with 23 kills, with Una Vajagic adding 15. Grace Egan and Kristen Simon served two aces apiece, with Simon also making 15 digs, while Alicia Andrew had five blocks and Charlie Fuerbringer set up 57 assists. The win advanced the Badgers to their seventh Final Four and their fifth since 2019.
The Badgers and Wildcats are tied 4-4 all-time, with Wisconsin winning the last three meetings, most recently a sweep at Kentucky on Sept. 9, 2022. The Badgers are after their second national championship after winning it all in 2021.
