When Mark Pope called a timeout midway through the first half, with Kentucky basketball leading 29-21, it was the turning point of the game Tuesday night against NC Central.

Brandon Garrison was benched for a lack of hustle back on defense, and that was Pope finally lighting the fire this team has needed for so long.

Kentucky outscored NC Central 74-46 the rest of the way in a 103-67 win. Otega Oweh looked like himself with 21 points on an efficient 9-of-12 shooting. He also had a team-high four steals and tied the team lead with seven rebounds.

After a brutal two-game stretch shooting the ball, Kentucky shot 60.9 percent from the floor Saturday and 12-of-29 from three-point range. The Wildcats also had 27 assists to just nine turnovers, while winning the rebounding battle 36-26.
