The NFL announced its conference players of the week for games in Week 13. No Arizona Cardinals were among them, which is completely unsurprising. But a player from their game on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was honored.

Bucs punter Riley Dixon was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday.

In the Bucs' 20-17 win over the Cardinals, Dixon averaged 48.0 yards on five punts with a 46.8-yard net average. He pinned three punts inside the Arizona 20-yard line and two inside the Arizona 10-yard line. His 46.8 net average was his third-highest mark in a game this season, and the highest in a game in which he punted at least four times.

The Buccaneers ranked first in the NFC in Week 13 for opponent starting field position after punts, limiting the Cardinals to an average of their own 12-yard line. He was only one of three punters with multiple punts pinned inside the 10-yard line in Week 13, and the only NFC punter to do so. On the season, Dixon’s 20 punts downed inside the opponent 20-yard line are tied for fifth-most in the NFL, while his eight punts downed inside the opponent 10-yard line are tied for sixth-most.

The Cardinals did not score on any possession after Dixon punted. On their first possession after a punt, Jacoby Brissett threw an interception. After the second punt, they punted. After Dixon's third punt, the Cardinals missed a field goal. On the other two, the Cardinals turned the ball over on downs.
