VerMaas committed to the program on April 20, 2023. He was the 116th overall safety in the 2023 class and the ninth overall player in his class from the state of Nebraska per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementVerMass was a local product, having been a standout at Millard North High School. He had 93 tackles, five interceptions and four forced fumbles over the course of his high school career.
He played in two games as a freshman in 2025. VerMaas will have four years of eligibility remaining.
