For the first time this season, the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals will square off. It's late in the year for their first meeting of 2025, but it won't be the last time they see each other this season; they'll also play the finale in Week 18 on a date to be determined.
Heading into this matchup, the Rams are six games better than the Cardinals. Los Angeles leads the NFC West, while Arizona has already been eliminated from playoff contention with its 3-9 record.

Here are eight stats and facts to know for Sunday's game between the Rams and Cardinals.
7 of Cardinals’ 9 losses have been by 4 points or less
The Cardinals might be 3-9, but their record could easily be much better than it is. They’ve suffered seven losses by four points or fewer, with their first five losses coming by a total of 13 points.
They’ve played better with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback, too, gaining at least 300 years in all seven of his starts after doing so once in Kyler Murray’s five starts.

The Cardinals are not afraid to air it out, in part because they’ve had to play from behind so often, but also because their ground game is borderline non-existent right now. Arizona has thrown the ball 465 times, the most of any team in football. Brissett even set an NFL record for completions with 47 against the 49ers a few weeks ago, attempting a total of 57 passes in the game.
Rams are 14-3 vs. Cardinals since 2017
Sean McVay has had the Cardinals’ number since the day he took over the Rams in 2017. After winning all of his first eight games against the Cardinals, McVay has since gone 6-3 against them but still owns a career record of 14-3, including the playoffs.

Davante Adams has more TD catches than all Cardinals WRs combined
Adams leads the NFL with 14 touchdown catches this season, which is more than seven teams have altogether in 2025. The Cardinals have 19 touchdown passes but eight of those have been to Trey McBride, and three others to running backs.
That leaves only eight touchdown catches by all of the Cardinals’ wide receivers combined, just over half as many as Adams has on his own.
Rams have slipped to 18th in 3rd-down efficiency, Cardinals are 7th
The Rams are trending in the wrong direction on third down, now ranking 18th in the NFL in conversion rate (38.9%). That’s because they rank 27th in their last three games, converting only 30.8% of the time on third down.

Rams are a top-5 red zone team
Red zone efficiency is often a strong indicator of a team’s success and the Rams might be the best in the NFL inside the 20. They score touchdowns 66% of the time when they reach the red zone, the fourth-best rate in football. Defensively, they only allow touchdowns 41.7% of the time, second-best of any team.
The Cardinals are only 17th and 19th in the red zone on offense and defense, respectively.

The Rams haven’t been racking up sacks in recent weeks but that could change on Sunday against the Cardinals. Arizona has allowed 42 sacks this season for a total loss of 308 yards. That’s the fourth-most sacks of any team and the third-highest sack yardage, showing just how poor the pass protection has been.
Rams allow third-lowest sack rate, fourth-lowest pressure rate
It’s been a very different story for the Rams this season, providing great protection for Matthew Stafford all year. Los Angeles has only allowed 17 sacks, tied for the third-fewest of any team. Their sack rate of 4.1% is the third-lowest and they also have the fourth-lowest pressure rate allowed.
