Thursday night is shaping up to be a must-win game for both teams. Key injuries could play a major role. Is the Cowboys' best path a division crown?

Both the Cowboys and Lions are treating Thursday night's game as a must-win proposition. Rightfully so, as the loser will have almost no realistic chance at making the postseason. Team owner Jerry Jones told a radio audience on Tuesday that the Cowboys' best shot at getting in isn't that seventh-seed wild card slot but winning the NFC East outright. It is possible, but it will require the Eagles to stumble a few more times... and the Cowboys to finish the season with eight straight wins, something they've never done in franchise history.

Week 14 could be decided in large part by who's not on the field. George Pickens was back in full-go mode on Tuesday, but defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and left tackle Tyler Guyton both sat out for a second day in a row. Trevon Diggs was limited as he tries to make his return; ESPN has identified the cornerback as the team's biggest X-factor as they head down the home stretch of the regular season.

In Detroit, Amon-Ra St. Brown missed practice again with an ankle injury. While head coach Dan Campbell tried to offer some hope that the star wide receiver could try to tough it out, St. Brown himself was more cautious, admitting his status is "up in the air." Campbell knows the team has no margin for error in December, due largely to poor play from the defense. To that end, leader Aidan Hutchinson didn't have many hard and fast answers when talking about the unit's myriad issues, blaming everything from double-teams in the pass rush to just plain "flow."

In league news, a new set of power rankings has the Cowboys inching into the top half of teams, and the NFL suddenly finds themselves with an overtime issue. Namely, officials are somehow screwing up the coin toss at an alarming rate and potentially affecting the outcome of the closest games being played. And after taking a beating on Monday night, Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart isn't interested in minimizing his big hits, something that may be of interest to Dallas defenders in their Week 18 meeting.
