Columbus (Ga.) Carver defensive lineman Nic’Quayvion Simmons announced his commitment to Tennessee on Tuesday.

“Tennessee felt right for me because the coaches kept it real from the beginning,” Simmons said. “They showed love, but they also showed me exactly how they see me fitting into the program and developing as a player. The energy up there is different it feels like family, and they made it clear they believe in what I can become.”

Simmons becomes commit No. 24 for Heupel and Tennessee in the 2026 class, adding to a haul Rivals previously ranked No. 10 nationally. Defensive line coach Rodney Garner was the lead recruiter.

“My favorite things about the Vols are the culture and the defensive mindset,” Simmons said. “The staff pushes their players to compete every day and I want to be in a place that’s going to challenge me on and off the field. The fans go crazy too, and the whole environment in Knoxville made me feel at home.”

In 11 games as a senior Carver High reports Simmons had 54 tackles including 30 stops for loss, seven sacks and 10 quarterback hurries.
