Vote for the Ingles WNC high school girls Athlete of the Week for Nov. 17-22

Following the first week of high school winter sports in Western North Carolina, it's time to vote for this week's Ingles Western North Carolina girls Athlete of the Week.

Vote for the girls athlete who had the best performance last week. The poll closes on Thursday at noon.

Layla Hunter, Asheville High: Hunter had 16 points and made four 3-pointers in a 66-32 loss to Dobyns-Bennett.

Jania Wilson, Asheville School: Wilson had a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds, but the Blues lost 60-47 against Cocke County.

Marley Jones, Avery County: Jones recorded a double-double, scoring 20 points with 11 rebounds as the Vikings defeated Smoky Mountain, 61-47, on Nov. 18. She tallied 13 points and five rebounds in a 62-16 win over North Henderson on Nov. 18 and added 16 points and six rebounds against West Wilkes on Nov. 21 in a 57-27 win.

Aleah Myers, Owen: The freshman scored 21 points on 90% shooting in a 59-29 loss to Tuscola.

Jade Cody, Pisgah: Cody's 16 points led the Bears to a 52-48 overtime win over Asheville School.

Bailey Staton, Polk County: Staton's 32 points and seven rebounds piloted the Wolverines past East Rutherford, 67-49, on Nov. 17. In a 79-16 win over Chase on Nov. 20, Staton came one point shy of the school record, dropping 37 in the win.

Julia Wells, Tuscola: Wells scored 22 points and added 10 steals for a double-double in a 66-45 win over Madison.

June Scontras, West Henderson: Scontras led the Falcons with 26 points in a 66-57 loss to Enka.
