Ben Johnson prepared to have Bears ready on quick turnaround week

The Chicago Bears won't have much time to celebrate their eighth win of the season, a 31-28 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they have a very short week to prepare for. The Bears will battle the Philadelphia Eagles in a Black Friday game on Amazon Prime this Friday.

While they've been the cream of the crop in the NFC over the last few seasons and are the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Eagles will be quite the test for this upstart Bears team. In their first year with head coach Ben Johnson, the Bears currently sit atop the NFC North with an 8-3 record, looking to continue their massive and successful turnaround in the 2025 season.

Following Sunday's win over the Steelers, Johnson spoke about how he plans to have the team prepared for a short turnaround this week.

"It's something we've been mindful of the moment the schedule came out," Johnson said. "I know our defensive coaches were certainly in the office a little bit later towards the end of the week there getting ahead. We'll have some coaches go into the office after the game here tonight. Then yeah, tomorrow it's going to be full steam ahead. We actually get an extra day. Normally you go Sunday to Thursday at least once a year. So Sunday to Friday is actually going to be pretty nice."

Chicago will need to have all hands on deck and prepared for their toughest test of the year to date against the No. 2 seed Eagles. It'll also be interesting to see how the team handles the health of their players, with several missing in Sunday's win over Pittsburgh. But cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon are inching closer to a return, potentially for this game between NFC heavyweights.
