Steelers' odds to make playoffs take massive blow after Week 12 loss

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reeling following their loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 12. With the Baltimore Ravens usurping their place atop the division, the Steel City brand of football is on the outside looking in for the AFC playoff picture.

According to reporter Mike DeFabo, the Steelers’ odds to make the playoffs took a massive drop following the Week 12 loss — down to an 18% chance, per The Athletic's Playoff Simulator.

Additionally, if the Steelers manage to defeat the Bills, Browns, Dolphins and split with the Ravens to achieve 10 wins on the season, Pittsburgh's odds would jump up to 93% — a difficult but doable feat.

Of the Steelers' next four matchups, three of their opponents are playoff contenders and hopefuls: the Buffalo Bills (home) in Week 13, the Baltimore Ravens (away) in Week 14, and the Detroit Lions (away) in Week 16 — vital games for getting back into the playoff picture following the loss to Chicago.
