Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders is coming off an exciting outing against the Las Vegas Raiders, where he was able to become the first Browns rookie in almost 30 years to win his first start.

But heading into Cleveland's next game against the San Francisco 49ers, Sanders knows the importance of not getting ahead of himself, and doesn't want to stay "comfortable" as the Browns' starting quarterback.

"I'm definitely not comfortable though, so that's first and foremost that I have another opportunity to go out there. But in life, you got to understand how quickly things come or how long it comes, it could be taken at any point in time," Sanders said via ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi.

Shedeur Sanders understands he has to continue playing well

"So I'm never comfortable in a situation I'm in. I always want to exceed expectations, and I always want to grow in each and every week, I would want to put a better product of myself, be a better version of myself for the team to be out there."

Sanders knows the criticism and noise that follows him, and is focused on the task at hand: retaining the Browns' starting quarterback job.

"I'm getting a little bit more comfortable and comfortable in being in that role, being in that position. They're getting more comfortable with me, also. So I'm excited, I'm happy for it and I'm just thankful."

In his first start, the Colorado standout completed 11 of 20 pass attempts for 209 yards, along with a touchdown and an interception.

Sanders knows he'll have to be better than that if Cleveland wants any shot of taking down the 49ers.
