Former Chelsea left back Ben Chilwell is ready to aim his middle finger to the club and prove some people wrong.
There is some talk about Chilwell being recalled into the England squad by Thomas Tuchel, a manager who did seem to like the left back.

The former Leicester man has found some form again and some sustained game time playing at Chelsea’s sister club, Strasbourg. And this has led to talk of an England recall and then moving on from that, a place in the World Cup squad in the summer. I mean, stranger things have happened.
Chilwell was left out in the cold by Chelsea and the way they treat players that they want to sell. They call it the ‘bomb squad’ and basically make players who they are trying to sell train by themselves and away from the main group. They segregate them pretty much.
It’s a way of operating that has drawn a lot of criticism and right now, Chelsea still have Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling in the bomb squad.

In words cited on X, Chilwell said:
“What a story it would be if I went to the World Cup after I was in the [Chelsea] bomb squad and everyone had counted me out 12 months prior.
“It would just be the biggest middle finger to so many people, which to me is a motivation. Chelsea were honest with me and there’s no resentment, but of course I’ve got an ego, so it would be a nice feeling to prove some people wrong.”
