ROSSVILLE (KSNT) – The Rossville Bulldogs are just a win away from being the Class 1A Kansas high school football state champions.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 21-18 win over Jackson Heights to hand the Cobras its first loss of the season.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThis will be Rossville’s seventh appearance in the state title game, and first since 2021 when the Bulldogs won the 2A state championship.
Leading the program is head coach Derrick Hammes with five state titles to his name.
“This is a good group of kids, that a base of our senior class is playing for its third year now,” Hammes said. “They’ve had a lot of experiences and I think their experiences on top of the chemistry that group has is what makes them special and its put them in this position to win this game.”
The 1A state title game will take place at Hutchinson Community College on Nov. 28 at 1 p.m.
