A man is dead and four others are injured after Toronto police say a vehicle crashed into a building on Christmas Eve.
Police said they responded to reports of a collision in the area of Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue West at about 2:28 p.m.
According to police, they had received reports of a vehicle in a building.
Deputy Insp. Jon Rose told reporters Wednesday evening that the collision occurred after the driver lost control of his vehicle in the parking lot before it crashed into a business.

“He was in the business when the vehicle went through the front, and he was standing there and … was not able to get out of the way of the vehicle that came through the front entrance,” he said.

Rose said emergency crews worked to extract the man, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
One female pedestrian was transported to hospital on a trauma run, while the third pedestrian was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene, before they were later taken to hospital along with a passenger for minor injuries.
