A new deal between Netflix and Amazon MGM Studios means a beloved 90s Sci-Fi series is returning to the streaming platform in select territories for the first time since it disappeared in 2022.
All ten seasons of "Stargate SG-1" will be available to stream on Netflix in the US early in the New Year, as well as in select international territories, including the UK and Latin America, as first reported by What's on Netflix.
...What Is 'Stargate SG-1'?
First airing in 1997, "Stargate SG-1" serves as a sequel to the spin-off from Roland Emmerich's 1994 movie about an interstellar transportation device that is found in Egypt, leading to a planet of humans resembling ancient Egyptians who worship a God named Ra.
The film stars Kurt Russell as Col. Jonathan 'Jack' O'Neil, James Spader as Dr. Daniel Jackson, Jaye Davidson as Ra, and Viveca Lindfors as Catherine Langford.
The series "Stargate-SG1" follows the events of the film and follows the titular SG-1, which is one of many secret military teams of soldiers and scientists who travel through a gateway to other planets and fight against dangerous aliens to protect Earth.
