Since 2000, Greenwood (Arkansas) has consistently claimed championship gold.

The Bulldogs can add another title to their already bulging trophy case, and one of the state’s greatest quarterbacks can put the finishing touches on a sterling career as Greenwood faces Shiloh Christian for the Arkansas Activities Association’s Class 6A title. It takes place Saturday night at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium.

Greenwood is going for its third straight title, and its 13th since winning its first-ever crown in 2000. The Bulldogs have won three straight two other times during that span, turning the trick from 2005-07 and again from 2010-12.

The Bulldogs (12-0) bring a high-powered offense into Saturday’s championship game, led by senior quarterback Kane Archer, who recently signed with the University of Utah.

Archer, who has played for the Bulldogs since his freshman season, guided them to titles each of the past two years and is also the first quarterback in state history to pass for 10,000-plus yards and rush for at least 2,500 yards, along with being the first to pass for at least 100 touchdowns and rush for at least 50 TDs. He also is 38-0 in his career as a starting quarterback.

The Bulldogs face their 6A-West conference rival for the title for the second straight season. Shiloh Christian (10-2) lost to Greenwood, 35-24, on Sept. 26. The Saints’ other loss was to Oklahoma school Lincoln Christian, which is playing for the Class 3A championship next week.

On Saturday, the Saints are attempting to win their first state title since 2020. They have won eight championships, dating back to 1998.

FOURTH QUARTER

- TOUCHDOWN AND 2-POINT CONVERSION GREENWOOD. Maybe the final TD pass of Kane Archer's career with the Bulldogs, as he finds Benton Hossley from 38 yards out. Champ Davis then catches a two-point pass. (Shiloh Christian, 70-50 | 2:30, 4th) 

- TOUCHDOWN SHILOH CHRISTIAN. And that may do it, as the Saints put up another score. Cole Creighton with a 33-yard strike to Chandler Kemp. (Shiloh Christian, 70-42 | 4:01, 4th) 

- TOUCHDOWN GREENWOOD. Kane  Archer with a 27-yard keeper into the end zone. (Shiloh Christian, 63-42 | 7:45, 4th)

- Greenwood turns it over on downs on the opening play of the final quarter, and the No. 1 ranked Bulldogs appear to be in some trouble.

THIRD QUARTER

- TOUCHDOWN SHILOH CHRISTIAN. Two plays after the pick, the Saints extend their lead as Charlie Kroell sprints to the end zone from 48 yards out. Shiloh now up by 20. (Shiloh Christian, 56-36 | 2:25, 3rd) 

- INTERCEPTION SHILOH CHRISTIAN. Zach Rowe picks off a pass at his own 35, stopping a Greenwood drive.

- TOUCHDOWN SHILOH CHRISTIAN. Saints come right back with a 9-play, 78-yard drive, capped by a Max Eldridge 8-yard run. (Shiloh Christian, 49-36 | 3:36, 3rd) 

- TOUCHDOWN AND 2-POINT CONVERSION GREENWOOD. Bulldogs go 49 yards in 12 plays, and on a fourth-down, Kane Archer finds Cooper Bland from 6 yards out. It's the third time this duo has hooked up. Archer then runs it in for two more points, and it's a one-score game. (Shiloh Christian, 42-36 | 5:58, 3rd) 

- Shiloh goes three-and-out on the first series of the second half, and the Saints will punt.

- Shiloh Christian will field the second-half kickoff. Can the second half top what we saw in the opening half?

SECOND QUARTER

- Shiloh's Corbin Miller ends the half with a sack, and the Saints are up by two touchdowns at the break.

- Shiloh tries a fake punt just beyond midfield but a pass goes incomplete. Greenwood takes over with less than a minute to go in the half.

- TOUCHDOWN GREENWOOD. WOW. Champ Davis fields the ensuing kickoff, finds a lane and is off for an 87-yard return to the house. This game is back and forth. (Shiloh Christian, 42-28 | 3:00, 2nd) 

- PICK-SIX SHILOH CHRISTIAN. Just like that, the underdog Saints have the two-time defending champions on the ropes. Miller,Colten Miller picks off a pass and brings it back for a 52-yard house call. (Shiloh Christian, 42-21 | 3:13, 2nd)  

- TOUCHDOWN SHILOH CHRISTIAN. Back and forth we go, and the Saints answer with an 8-play, 69-yard drive following the latest Greenwood TD. Cole Creighton with an 18-yard pass to Chandler Kemp. (Shiloh Christian, 35-21 | 4:01, 2nd) 

- TOUCHDOWN GREENWOOD. Bulldogs respond with a 6-play, 56-yard drive, ending with a Kane Archer 8-yard keeper into the end zone. (Shiloh Christian, 28-21 | 6:04, 2nd)
