The Dallas Cowboys saved their season in the most "Cowboys way possible on Sunday with a 24-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

A first half that saw a host of embarrassing self-inflicted wounds had Dallas down 21-0 early in the second quarter. Then the comeback started.

A touchdown before halftime gave Dallas life, and Brian Schottenheimer's team emerged from halftime a different beast. The defense didn't allow a single point on eight straight possessions, kept Saquon Barkley to just 22 yards, and Dak Prescott and the offense tore apart the Eagles' defense en route to setting up Brandon Aubrey for the game-winner.

Due to the powerful nature of the comeback, CBS Sports' John Breech has given Dallas a "B+" grade.

"The Cowboys (5-5-1) are certainly a long shot to make the playoffs, but this team is playing its best football of the season and with a suddenly transformed defense, Dallas certainly feels like a dark horse to reach the postseason," Breech wrote.

Cowboys season has life

At 5-5-1, let's be clear, the Cowboys likely aren't going to the playoffs, especially with games against the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions up next, but if they can somehow navigate that, then who knows.

But right now, there is a belief growing in that locker room, and to score 24 unanswered points against the Eagles is no mean feat, after all, the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions scored 16 combined points in eight total quarters.

All fans wanted was for this team to show something, and goodness me, they did on Sunday, producing a comeback for the ages and keeping their season alive...for a week at least anyway.
