Defensive lineman Walter Nolen III suffered a knee injury and played on six snaps.

Three defensive players were on the field only for special teams: Linebackers Owen Pappoe and Channing Tindall, and cornerback Elijah Jones.

How were the snaps divided up? Below are the individual snap counts for every player who got into the game defensively, grouped by position, as well as the snap counts on special teams.

The first number after each name is snaps and the second is the percentage. Players in bold were starters.

The most unsung move the Cardinals made before the game was to move on from punter Pat O’Donnell and sign Matt Haack, who averaged 49.8 yards on six punts with a net of 42.7. The latter would have been better save for a 43-yard punt return. Haack had four punts inside the 20, including two downed at the 1- and 3-yard lines and two fair catches. The cover team also allowed a 39-yard kickoff return.

Kicker Chad Ryland missed a 33-yard field-goal attempt (the same length as an extra point), which turned out to be the margin of defeat.
