Offense
Points ScoredThe Irish would’ve been ranked first in the ACC for points scored per game. The team averaged 42 points per game during the 2025-26 season. Pitt (8-4) was a ways off at #2 with 35.1 points scored per game. Stanford (4-8) sat at the bottom of the conference with only 18.8 points scored per game.
Notre Dame would be ranked third in the ACC for total offensive yards earned per game. The team recorded an average of 458.5 offensive yards per game during the regular season and would’ve been sandwiched between Georgia Tech (9-3) and Virginia (10-2). Florida State is an anomaly for both the ACC and overall sport. The Seminoles were first in the conference for total offense per game but still finished with a 5-7 overall record. North Carolina (4-8) rounded out the bottom of the conference with only 288.8 yards of total offense averaged per game.
The Irish went light with its utilization of pass game in 2025-26 when compared with the ACC teams. They averaged 26.9 pass attempts per game and only Virginia Tech (3-9) was below them with 26.7 pass attempts per game. California (7-5) threw the most this regular season, with an average of 38.9 pass attempts per game.
Notre Dame ended up being a pretty accurate team when compared with ACC programs. They would’ve been ranked #4, with a 67.2% regular season completion rate. Miami (FL) (10-2) was the conference’s most accurate passing team with a 73.9% completion rate.

The Irish were in the middle of the ACC pack in terms of total passing yards during the 2025-26 regular season. The team averaged 255.1 passing yards per game. Duke (7-5) led the conference with an average of 289.3 passing yards per game and Virginia Tech was at the bottom with 166.3 passing yards per game.
Both Miami (FL) and Notre Dame averaged the same amount of rush attempts per game during the regular season. The two teams recorded 35.8 carries per game. Florida State was at the top of the pack with an average of 42.2 rush attempts per game and North Carolina was on the bottom with 28.8 rush attempts per game.
The Irish would’ve led the ACC in terms of rushing efficiency. The team’s rushing stable averaged 5.7 yard per carry during the regular season and Georgia Tech would’ve been #2 with 5.6 yards gained per carry. Stanford and California would’ve been tied for last with an average of only 2.6 yards earned per carry.
Notre Dame would’ve been #2 in the ACC for rushing production per game. Notre Dame averaged 203.4 yards on the ground, slightly edging out Georgia Tech who averaged 203.0 rushing yards per game. Florida State was the ACC leader with 218.7 rushing yards per game and California brought up the rear with 76.5 rushing yards per game.
Defense
Points AllowedThe Irish defense would’ve been ranked #2 in the conference for total points allowed per game. Opponents scored an average of 17.6 points against Notre Dame during the regular season. Miami (FL) would’ve been #1 with 13.8 points allowed per game and the Syracuse defense would’ve been ranked last with 34.9 points allowed per game.
Notre Dame’s defense would’ve been ranked #4 in the ACC for total offensive yards allowed per game. The Irish allowed an average of 312.7 offensive yards per game. Miami (FL) was the conference leader with 277.8 total offensive yards earned by opponents. Boston College (2-10) was on the bottom of the ACC with 433.3 total offensive yards allowed per game.
The Irish defense would’ve been #1 in the conference regarding pass accuracy. Opposing quarterback’s completion rate per game during the 2025-26 regular season was 55.7%. Duke was on the opposite end of the spectrum and opponents completed 68.3% of their passes per game.
The defense would’ve been in the middle of the ACC pack regarding opponents’ passing yards. Opponents were held to an average of 213.4 passing yards per game during the regular season. Louisville was the conference leader with 190.6 passing yards allowed per game. Stanford was the worst, allowing 288.9 passing yards per game.
Notre Dame and SMU (8-4) would’ve been tied at #3 for opponents’ rushing efficiency. Both teams held 2025-26 opponents to 3.0 yards per carry. Miami (FL) was #2 with 2.9 yards per carry and Pitt was #1 with 2.8 yards per carry.
The Irish defense would’ve been ranked #3 in terms of rushing yards allowed per game. Notre Dame’s 2025-26 opponents averaged 99.3 yards on the ground per game. Miami (Fl)’s defense led the conference with only 86.8 rushing yards allowed per game and Boston College was on the bottom with 177.6 rushing yards allowed per game.
