Championship weekend begins with four conference title games Friday night, and two of them will play a role in determining the College Football Playoff field.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe winner of the American championship game between No. 20 Tulane and No. 24 North Texas should earn a CFP berth as one of the five highest-ranked conference champions. They aren't the only contenders for a spot, though.
No. 25 James Madison would be 12-1 if it beats Troy in the Sun Belt final Friday, giving the Dukes a legitimate case for a berth. While it seems unlikely they would vault either of the American finalists, a conference title could get JMU into the playoff if Duke (currently 7-5) beats Virginia in the ACC title game.
The CUSA and Mountain West title games are also on tap, with trophies on the line as Jacksonville State faces Kennesaw State and Boise State meets UNLV.
Here's everything that you need to know about watching college football on Friday, including TV and streaming information.
