The U.S. government has formally linked Venezuelan DJ and actress Jimena Romina Araya Navarro, known as Rosita, to activities supporting the Tren de Aragua criminal organization. The accusation appears in an official action by the Treasury Department, which includes Rosita on a list of individuals sanctioned for allegedly providing material support to the criminal group.

According to the document, published on December 3, 2025 , the artist allegedly participated in financing operations, logistical support and facilitation of movements linked to leaders of the organization.

Rosita, 41, is a well-known figure in Venezuela since her time on the comedy show A Que Te Ríes. Over the last decade, she has developed a career as a DJ, performing in nightclubs in Venezuela, Colombia, and other countries in the region.

Her constant presence at nightlife events and her activity on social media kept her on the radar of Latin entertainment, although she was also surrounded by controversy from 2012 onwards, when she was investigated by Venezuelan authorities for her alleged close ties to Héctor Guerrero Flores, known as Niño Guerrero, leader of the Tren de Aragua gang. At that time, she denied any connection and was released without charges.

The Treasury's most recent action reignites that connection. The official statement maintains that Rosita is part of an international network that facilitated the financial operations of the Tren de Aragua gang through shows, nightclubs, and other commercial venues. The U.S. government asserts that these structures were used to launder money generated by extortion, drug trafficking, and other crimes attributed to the group. By being added to the sanctions list, her assets under U.S. jurisdiction are frozen, and U.S. individuals and companies are prohibited from engaging in transactions with her.

So far, Rosita has not publicly responded to the accusations, and no legal proceedings have been opened against her in the United States. The sanction does not constitute a criminal conviction, but it does place her on an international watch list, which could affect her business activities, artistic contracts, and freedom of movement. There has been no recent statement from Venezuelan authorities regarding her, although the Tren de Aragua gang continues to be investigated as one of the country's most influential criminal organizations.

The United States maintains that identifying alleged collaborators is part of a strategy to curb the expansion of the group, which operates through extortion, migrant smuggling, human trafficking, kidnapping, and territorial control within prisons and communities. The inclusion of public figures in the sanctions demonstrates the broad reach the U.S. government attributes to the Tren de Aragua's support network.
