“Five teams can win it”: Jordan coach reveals his Arab Cup power list

Jordan head coach Jamal Sellami has tipped five national team as the leading contenders to lift the Arab Cup Qatar 2025 trophy.

Following the opening round of matches in the tournament hosted by Qatar until 18 December.

Qatar is staging the competition under FIFA supervision for the second consecutive time after the successful 2021 edition that served as test event ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Sellami’s five favourite

Speaking in press conference, the Moroccan coach identified Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Qatar & Algeria as the strongest title candidates among the 16 participating nation.

Jordan opened their Group B journey with 2-1 victory over the UAE. Sellami praised his squad’s reaction calling it “a deserved win” and expressing satisfaction with collecting their first three point.

Group B also includes Egypt & Kuwait who played out 1-1 draw leaving the race wide open heading into matchday 2.
