A former Texas A&M commitment has committed to Tennessee this signing day. The Volunteers pick up another EDGE prospect here, adding Jordan Carter after winning a recruiting battle that went down to the wire.

Carter is a 4-star prospect out of Douglasville, Georgia. According to the Rivals Industry Rankings, Carter ranks as the 212th overall prospect in the class of 2026. The 6-3, 245 pound chose Tennessee over Georgia Tech and Auburn in the end. Tennessee hosted Carter on an official visit back on November 15th. He saw Auburn and Georgia Tech afterwards, but the Volunteers were able to hang on.

At Douglasville County High School this season, Carter put up 18 sacks on the year. He added 82 tackles and 23 tackles for loss.

Carter joins a pretty loaded EDGE group for Tennessee in the class of 2026. 4-stars Zach Groves, Hezekiah Harris and 3-star CJ Edwards round out the group, loading up the pipeline for the future. Tennessee has sent Byron Young, James Pearce and now Joshua Josephs through in recent seasons. Jordan Ross and Caleb Herring are the next players up in the group.

Tennessee adds another defensive front piece today as Carter joins defensive lineman Carter Gooden, who flipped from UCLA earlier today. They may not be done just yet, either.
