Colby Johnson officially wins for northernmost recruit in this year’s class for the Colorado Buffaloes. Washington isn’t crazy north, but it easily beats Colorado, and most importantly, Sammamish is a very fun hometown to say and write.
Deion Sanders really doesn’t recruit the Pacific Northwest that often, so Johnson is a rarity during the Coach Prime era. He popped up on CU’s radar after the camp circuit in the offseason, which is a delightfully old-school recruiting backdrop. Johnson is 6’2, 195, so he is a bit skinny for where we’d like him to be in college. Johnson has plenty of regional offers, like Arizona, Washington State and San Diego State.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementJohnson is an all-around athlete, who plays running back, linebacker and also runs on the track team (110 meter dash, which 110 more meters than I would ever like to dash). He can fly in the open field and he has that easy speed that you usually see in defensive back and wide receivers.
Welcome, Colby!
