Din Thomas advises Sean Brady to stick to welterweight after UFC 322.

Brady (18-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) was knocked out by Michael Morales last month in a pivotal 170-pound clash. The size difference had Brady contemplating a move down to 155 pounds, but his coach, Thomas, doesn't want him to jump the gun just yet.

He's also not sure what implications the cutdown could have on Brady physically.

"I haven't talked to him yet about it, but normally I tell fighters that's not the answer," Thomas told MMA Junkie. "I normally tell fighters moving down in weight is not the answer because he was ranked No. 2, which means he was better than everybody else before then, and then if you lose one fight, you're still a great fighter. If you move down, you'll just have issues that you have going down, as well. I'm not even sure if Sean can do it healthily because he's a big guy. He's got a big upper body.

"So, it might be difficult for him. Whatever Sean wants to do, but my thing really is, I had this with Gillian (Robertson), and it was more mental for her. She was just like, 'I want to fight smaller girls.' So, if Sean decides he wants to move down, I'm going to support that, but if you were to ask me what my opinion would be, let's just continue to work at 170 and just make sure we don't make any mistakes."

Prior to the Morales loss, 33-year-old Brady was on a three-fight winning streak with wins over Kelvin Gastelum, Gilbert Burns, and former champion Leon Edwards.
