There won't be any college football program in the country with better gridiron bloodlines than the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementOn national early signing day Wednesday, Notre Dame inked three new recruits who are the sons of former NFL stars.
The new signings are:
Devin Fitzgerald, son of WR Larry Fitzgerald
Kaydon Finley, son of TE Jermichael Finley
Thomas Davis Jr., son of LB Thomas Davis

Fitzgerald and Finley are both wide receivers.
Amazingly, they join a wide receiver room that already includes Jerome Bettis Jr. (yes, the son of The Bus) and Elijah Burress, the son of Plaxico.
Those guys all catch passes from Lloyd Carr's grandson, C.J. Carr.
Thomas Davis Jr. is, like his pops, a stud linebacker.

It's a huge deal, not just for the natural genetics and talent of the new recruits but to also have such legends of the game hanging around and supporting the Fighting Irish, even when they played their college football elsewhere.
If Notre Dame can keep landing recruits like these guys, it'll keep being in the national conversation every year.
