This morning, Ken Rosenthal and Dennis Lin are reporting that the Colorado rockies plan to hire Josh Byrnes to serve as their new general manager.
Currently, Byrnes works as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ senior vice president of operations. It is a position he has held since 2014.

This will also not be his first rodeo with the Rockies. From 1999-2002, he served as an assistant general manager for the Rockies. He left the Rockies to become an assistant general manager for the Boston Red Sox who would win the World Series in 2004. Prior to joining the Rockies, Byrnes worked as a scout in the Cleveland organization before Dan O’Dowd brought him to Denver.
In terms of background, Byrnes, 55, is a native of Washington, D.C.. He played college baseball for Haverford College where he set records for home runs and RBIs while completing his bachelor’s degree in English.
This is a developing story.
