Recently retired defensive back Tyrann Mathieu appeared as a guest on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams, offering advice to the Kansas City Chiefs for the upcoming offseason.

“One change I would like to see for next year, I feel like they got so many holes,” said Mathieu, “I would really like for them to get a running back that can really take that pressure off of (Patrick) Mahomes.”

The Chiefs have dealt with injuries from starter Isiah Pacheco missing multiple games. Veteran Kareem Hunt has stepped in as a much-needed consistent option in recent games, as he’s garnered 130 carries for 515 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

During his three seasons in Kansas City, Mathieu started 47 games, recording 213 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, four sacks, four fumble recoveries, 13 interceptions, 27 passes defended, and two defensive touchdowns. He was a key starter on the Super Bowl LV-winning team in the 2019 season.
