Colt Knost will be getting fewer steps in at PGA Tour events next season as part of a new look for CBS Sports’ golf broadcast team in 2026.
Knost has been elevated from walking reporter to analyst, the network announced on Wednesday, and will be seated in the network’s “Super Tower” alongside host Jim Nantz, lead analyst Trevor Immelman and fellow analyst Frank Nobilo. He assumes the chair in the booth formerly occupied for 18 years at CBS by Ian Baker-Finch, who retired in August.

He also co-hosts the Sirius/XM Radio show "Gravy and The Sleaze" with Drew Stoltz, as well as the Golf Subpar podcast.
“Colt has become a valued voice on our team, bringing insight, energy, and his engaging personality to every broadcast,” said Harold Bryant, executive producer and executive vice president of production, CBS Sports. “Elevating him alongside Jim, Trevor, and Frank in our Super Tower is a natural next step that reflects the trust and respect he’s earned.”
"He has the perfect blend of humility with his self-deprecating humor combined with a true knowledge of the game, and his resume speaks to that being a U.S. Amateur champion and 2007 Walker Cup team member," Sellers Shy, lead producer at CBS, said of Knost in a Golfweek story in 2022. "Plus, he has an incredible relationship with today's players."
Complementing the Network’s announcers in the Super Tower, Dottie Pepper will continue to serve as lead on-course reporter alongside on-course reporter Mark Immelman, with Amanda Balionis handling interviews.
“All I can say is wow!” Knost said in a social media post. “This is by far the biggest honor of my golf career…Torrey Pines can’t get here fast enough. Let’s get this party started!”

CBS this year has all three FedEx Cup playoffs events in August, including the season-ending Tour Championship from East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Expect Knost, who served as a commentator on the Skins Game on Amazon Prime last week, to continue to bring his perfect blend of humor and insight from his days as a player to the broadcast.
"I honestly feel like this is what I was meant to do," Knost said in 2022. "Playing on Tour for eight years was just the thing that transferred me into being what I'm supposed to be and that's being on TV."
