Sole In-State Player Jase Reynolds Signs With Nebraska

Nebraska’s 2026 class features just one in-state signee this cycle: linebacker Jase Reynolds from Elkhorn North. Gone are the days of massive local classes and waves of walk-ons, but Reynolds carries the torch alone this year. He won’t enroll early as he’ll finish out basketball season, but the Huskers are getting a tough, competitive athlete at 6’2″ and 205 pounds who will need to bulk up to handle Big Ten physicality.

In-state players have long understood the program’s identity better than anyone, often forming the backbone of past classes. Reynolds will be the lone standard-bearer this time around, but his mentality, effort, and leadership traits give him a chance to grow into that role once he gets settled.

Though not heavily recruited, Reynolds brings important intangibles that don’t always show up in rankings. His path to playing time will require patience and development, but Nebraskans will have plenty of reason to root for the hometown kid as he works toward the big stage.
