The Kansas City Chiefs are at a crucial moment in the season as they attempt to keep their playoff hopes alive in Week 14 against the Houston Texans. The unusual 6-6 record has many commentators and analysts doubting the team's chances and its star quarterback.
Indianapolis Colts legend Jeff Saturday appeared on ESPN's 'First Take' on Tuesday, suggesting that Patrick Mahomes' image could take a serious hit if Kansas City misses the postseason.

It has been a remarkable watch what he is capable of doing and what he has done for this franchise, but we can't act like that he hasn't been part of the issues that have happened with the Chiefs," Saturday said, pointing out some of Mahomes' self-inflicted errors. "If you don't make the playoffs, that means you are in a spiral, which would be shocking to me, but if they did miss the playoffs, it would make me look at Patrick Mahomes differently."
Mahomes is still having a high-value season, having captured two AFC Player of the Week awards and some MVP chatter. He has never ended a season without experiencing an AFC Championship game since becoming the starting quarterback in 2017.
Saturday was a six-time Pro Bowl selection and won a Super Bowl with the Colts in 2006. He briefly served as the interim head coach of Indianapolis in 2022, going 1-7 during his tenure.
