Colorado football had a vastly disappointing season, finishing 3-9 with just one Big 12 Conference win. But because of the hectic college football calendar, it is already time to prepare for 2026.

The early signing day is today, with Deion Sanders and the Buffs expected to sign 11 players to their initial 2026 recruiting class. That number does not include any potential flips that Sanders is known to pull off at least once per cycle.

One of those potential flips is four-star wide receiver Kenny Darby, who recently decommitted from LSU following the hiring of Lane Kiffin. Darby, a Louisiana native, had been committed to the Tigers for over a year. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 229 overall player and the No. 35 receiver.

His announcement of his Colorado offer on Tuesday drew the attention of Colorado's star quarterback Julian Lewis. Lewis was quick to point out to Colorado's Director of Player Personnel, Corey Phillips, that he would love to team up with Darby.

An early signing day commitment from Darby would be a massive win for Sanders' program after several 2026 recruits have decommitted in the past month, coinciding with the team's struggles. He would become the program's second-highest-rated recruit in the upcoming class.

Currently, 247Sports has one Crystal Ball prediction for Darby to land with Mississippi State.
