Early Signing Period FAQs
When is the Early Signing Period?December 3-5, 2025.
February 4, 2026.
The ESP is the soonest date that high school and junior college athletes can sign with their schools. It is not required for athletes to sign during the ESP, but over the past half-decade, the ESP has become the de facto NSD of old. The majority of prospects now sign during the ESP.
With the recent statement of Mike Norvell’s return for the 2026 season, we expect the vast majority of the class, if not the entire class, to sign during the ESP. Things can certainly change based on coordinator/assistant coach movement but we are not aware of any FSU commits who plan to delay their signings as of now.
Yes. It happened last year and could happen again this year based on who is still available and FSU’s needs moving forward.
The transfer portal will be open for a two week period only, from January 2-16, 2026. Exceptions exist for coaching changes (a 15-day window that starts five days after the new coach is hired) and CFP playoff participants who play on or after January 12 (five days after final game to enter the portal).
We will have a separate ongoing discussion thread for the portal.
