Coming off back-to-back losses over the weekend to the San Diego Clippers, the South Bay Lakers looked to get back on track on Tuesday against the Salt Lake City Stars at Delta Center in Utah. They had lost to the Stars on the road exactly two weeks earlier, so they had a little extra incentive to get a win.

But this game belonged to Salt Lake City. It won each quarter, and by the time it established a 67-52 halftime lead, it was clear that this would be a struggle for the Lakers. Salt Lake City won, 136-105, and it held the Lakers to 41.9% field-goal shooting and 30.4% from 3-point range. It also forced 18 Lakers turnovers, which allowed it to hold a 39-14 edge in fast-break points and a 56-38 advantage in points in the paint.

For Los Angeles, guard Luke Goode led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow starting guard R.J. Davis had 16 points and eight assists, power forward Anton Watson scored 17 points and rookies Chris Mañon and Arthur Kaluma each contributed 15 points.

The team now has a 5-4 record and is three games behind the Stars, who are in first place in the West pod.
