Saint Stephen's names new coach: The Falcons announced the hiring of Tiago Campos as its varsity volleyball coach.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementCampos played in Brazil and coached there collegiately in 1998 prior to moving to the United States. Most recently, Coach Campos was the head varsity coach at Gulf Coast Heat. Prior to his time at Gulf Coast Heat, he spent time on the Out-of-Door Academy volleyball staff. Campos also has deep ties with Elite Volleyball Academy, as he is the head coach of three high-level teams - The 14U National, 14U Premier, and 16U Premier Teams. He also serves on the club's board of directors.
Girls Basketball
Bradenton Christian 44, Sarasota Christian 39: The Panthers (2-2) came up with the victory with some clutch baskets and free throws in the fourth quarter. The Blazers (3-1) were led by Brenda Bresciani with 16 points and Nikki Olupitan’s 10 points. Grace Gallo pitched in 7 points and some key assists. The Panthers were led by Kenna Baker’s 12 points and Natasha Pearce’s 9 points.

Boys Soccer
Babcock 6, Imagine School 4: Eduard Duychek made 10 saves, Damarius Burke scored twice with lone goals from Cayne Roser and Tim Widelderhain.

North Port 69, Imagine School 66: Zahmir Jackson scored 21 and Peyton Rassbach and Brennen Taft each scored 14 as the Sharks dug themselves a big first-half hole, fought back to take one-point lead late in the fourth before falling.
Cardinal Mooney 60, JW Mitchell 43: The Cougars improved to 4-0 with Elijah Price 14 and Kaiden Wright each scoring 14.
