BSD MVP Nebraska: Kaytron Allen

It’s become a weekly ritual – write about how Kaytron Allen performed well on the previous Saturday.

Allen isn’t just being honored by us here at BSD following his two-touchdown performance against Nebraska a couple of days back. He was also named the Big Ten Offensive Co-Player of the Week.

More than that, Allen put himself atop the all-time Penn State rushing yards list with his performance in the 37-10 win against the Huskers.

Allen ran for 160 yards on 25 carries, while also scoring a pair of touchdowns.

He eclipsed Evan Royster’s all-time rushing mark in the fourth quarter. He’ll have at least one more game to add to his career total of 3,954 yards.

On the night, Allen also surpassed 1,000 yards on the season – the second straight year he’s gone over that mark.

Others Considered

Nicholas Singleton: The senior had 95 yards of total offense and tied Saquon Barkley for the all-time career touchdown record.

Ethan Grunkemeyer: It was the best outing yet for the young quarterback, who threw for more than 180 yards and a touchdown. He did that with just one incompletion.

Zane Durant: The senior defensive lineman had a key sack and also stuffed a Nebraska run on fourth-and-short in the early going, setting the tone for a dominant performance in the trenches.
