Dec. 2—MITCHELL — For their outstanding seasons during the fall, area high school volleyball players were recognized by their local conferences.
A summary of all the area players selected is listed below, sorted by conference.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Southeast South Dakota Conference has announced its all-SESD volleyball team, recognizing 18 athletes.
The first team included two players from Parkston with the duo of Keeara Oakley and Finley Bogenreif. They are joined by Kori Vanderwerff of Platte-Geddes, Ravyn Medricky of Wagner, Emmie Hausmann of Burke, and Gracie Root of Winner.
On the second team, Winner placed two athletes on this squad in Livvy Audiss and Lilly Barfuss, while Burke added Brianna Davis and Emmy Spencer. Gregory's Regan Graesser and Mount Vernon/Plankinton's Madalynn Lorang were also second-team selections.
The third team selections also included Parkston's Addison Koehn and Burke's Kyrie Matucha, alongside Platte-Geddes' Kolbi Hoffman and Bon Homme's Taycee Ranek, plus Wagner's Braxton Nedved and Hannah Holzbauer.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementBurke, Avon, Tripp-Delmont/Armour, and Gayville-Volin each placed three student-athletes on the all-Great Plains Conference team.
Burke's selections were highlighted by seniors Emmie Hausmann and Kyrie Matucha, joined by junior Emmy Spencer. Avon's representation included Rilyn Thury, alongside Jordyn Voigt and Brielle Voigt. For TDA, the trio of Mia Reiner, Kinley Spaans, and Ryenn Loneman earned honors, while Gayville-Volin placed Taylor Hoxeng, Mia Achen, and Jolie Westrum on the squad.
Andes Central/Dakota Christian is represented by Audrey DeHaan and freshman Lily Muckey, while Corsica-Stickney saw seniors Sophie DeLange and Cali Vanden Hoek selected. Rounding out the primary selections were Colome's Emme Nelson and Scotland's Savannah Meng.
The honorable mention list from Mitchell-area schools includes ACDC's Marin Bultje, Avon's Kaydence Metzger, Burke's Brianna Davis, Colome's Gracie Rohde, Corsica-Stickney's Hadynn Johnson, Scotland's Hope Starwalt and TDA's Sara Bertram.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSanborn Central/Woonsocket senior Elizabeth Boschee led the area selections to the all-281 Conference volleyball first team.
Boschee was joined by SCW teammate Addison Bartholow, who was on the second team, and Kali Hofer, who was an honorable mention. Wessington Springs' Kaitlynn Braun was also an honorable mention for the Spartans.
Additional first-team selections in the 281 included Wolsey-Wessington's Kendal Uttecht, Shae Uttecht and Maria Nelson, while Hitchcock-Tulare's Gracyn Bixler and Cora Hofer were also added.
Second-team all-281 picks included Hitchcock-Tulare's Cambree Hoekman and Rebecca Huizenga, Wolsey-Wessington's Timber Haeder, Highmore-Harrold's Jada Baloun and Iroquois/Lake Preston's Hadlee Holt.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour and Wagner each had four players selected. The Red Raiders' contingent included Ravyn Medricky, Braxton Nedved, Hannah Holzbauer, and Libby Kotab. Tripp-Delmont/Armour's selections included Mia Reiner, Kinley Spaans, Sara Bertram, and Ryenn Loneman.
Avon was represented by three players with Brielle Voigt, Rilyn Thury, and Jordyn Voigt, and Bon Homme also had three selections with Taycee Ranek, Olivia Kaul, and Jersie Schonebaum.
Scotland placed Savannah Meng and Hope Starwalt on the list and Andes Central/Dakota Christian was represented by Audrey DeHaan and Lily Muckey.

Huskies' senior Oakley Weber was the conference's MVP, joined by Macie Weber on the first team. Freeman senior Vaida Ammann and junior Claire Loofbourrow were selections for the Flyers, joined by Hanson senior Claire Bridge and Canistota senior Ember Schenkel. Bridgewater-Emery was the conference champion with a 7-0 record, followed by Canistota and Freeman at 5-2 and Hanson at 4-3.
On the all-Cornbelt second team, Freeman's Rylee Peterson, Hanson's Ava Doyle, Bridgewater-Emery's Maizey Strombeck and Canistota's Ellia Becker were joined by Irene-Wakonda's Paige O'Daniel and Reagan Rudd. Third-team selections included Canistota's Emma Sandman, Viborg-Hurley's Olivia Hanson, Bridgewater-Emery's Reese Meyer, Howard's Kayleigh Schwader, Freeman's Libby Ammann and Menno's Lexie McNinch.
Notable honorable mention selections included Freeman's Rylea Timmerman, Canistota's Clare Remacle, Howard's Reese Rudebusch, Hanson's Alivia Bender, Menno's Kylie Guthmiller and Bridgewater-Emery's Kadyn Glanzer.

The Warriors' Lilly Barfuss, Gracie Root, Livvy Audiss and Payton Sargent were all named to the all-conference team.
Chamberlain had two all-conference selections with Jovie VanDenBosch and Maisy Petersen on the first team.
Additional first-team selections included Mobridge-Pollock's Blake Thompson, Ellie Kemnitz and Tegan Konold, Stanley County's Breckyn Huebner and Todd County's Bree White Hat, Isabella Whipple and Caisley Brady.
McCook Central/Montrose had two selections to the all-Big East Conference honor team for volleyball.

Class B state champions Chester were represented on the all-Big East first team by Emmerson Eppard, Jacy Wolf and Lily Van Hal.
Additional first-team selections included Baltic's Sophia Even and Tenley Witzel, Sioux Valley's Lacey Langland and Talya Vincent, Parker/Marion's Braelyn Berens and Lanae Waldner, Beresford's Tavyn Tiedeman, Garretson's Vivian Johnson and Flandreau's Ella Hoffman.
