Recruiting Roundup: SEC commit talks Michigan visit for Ohio State gameStory byScotty WhiteTue, December 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM UTC·3 min read

The Michigan Wolverines’ 2025 regular season came to an end on Saturday with a disappointing loss to Ohio State. There will still be a bowl game, but for the foreseeable future, recruiting will be the primary focus for the program. Let’s dive into the latest in today’s Recruiting Roundup.

Tennessee commit breaks down Michigan visit

Michigan had a lot of recruits on campus for The Game, and one of them was 2026 four-star athlete Salesi Moa. He has been committed to Tennessee since July, but the Wolverines are still pushing, and he is clearly receptive.

“It was good,” Moa told The Michigan Insider ($). “It was cold, but the game was exciting and in the snow, we really got the experience the whole thing. I brought my family with me, so it was good with them and met some new people as well.”

Moa is being recruited to play in the secondary and saw some things he likes about the Michigan defense, but it doesn’t sound like he is ready to change his commitment just yet.

“I could see myself playing on this Michigan defense, but still locked in with Tennessee,” he said.

The Volunteers will be tough to beat, especially given his longstanding commitment. We’ll see if his mind changes at all before the early signing period begins later this week.

Despite the loss over the weekend the Wolverines still landed two commitments after The Game. One of them came from an in-state star in 2027 four-star edge rusher Recarder Kitchen.

Michigan made sure Kitchen felt wanted during the entire recruiting process, and the hard work from the staff paid off.

“The number one thing in my recruitment was communication and loyalty and Michigan stood out big in that department,” Kitchen told 247Sports ($). “They texted me all the time asking me how I was doing and asked me about life outside of football. It was always about more than football because there’s a lot of life to live after football and they always talked to me about that and that’s what I loved most and what stood out to me the most.”

Louisville, Penn State and Wisconsin were also top choices for Kitchen, who is the No. 110 overall prospect in his class.

Four-star DB raves about visit despite loss

It would’ve been great for Michigan to get a win over Ohio State with so many top targets in the house, but recruits still enjoyed their time in Ann Arbor despite the loss. 2027 four-star safety Myles Baker was in town for The Game, and his visit was a success.

“Definitely not the outcome we wanted to see but still doesn’t take away from the amazing time I’ve been having out here,” Baker told On3 ($).

Baker was able to chat with both Sherrone Moore and LaMar Morgan, and it sounds like he has a lot of interest in the program.

“I had meetings with coach Morgan already,” Baker said. “I talked to coach Moore (Sunday) to see how he feels about the game but I’ve been having a great visit. The way coach Morgan has been recruiting me so far. The defensive staff really likes me a lot. Really, how coach Morgan has been recruiting me and it’s a great place. I have family out here so it definitely will be a place I have interest in going.”

While he was thinking about it, Baker isn’t quite ready to commit just yet, but Michigan is certainly a top option for him.

“I’m going to wait it out but Michigan is definitely high,” he admitted. “That is somewhere I’d want to go. I’m not going to commit this weekend but I thought about it for sure.”
