Good morning, baseball fans!
Since the season ended, the McCovey Chronicles staff have been doing player reviews that go over each member of the San Francisco Giants’ 2025 season. Today, I’m going to continue our community reviews where we ask you all to weigh in on how you feel like each player did this year and what your favorite highlights were.

Unfortunately, the vibes were not great. Despite an excellent Spring Training that saw Encarnación poised to make the Opening Day roster, disaster struck in the form of a hand fracture that would lead to him starting the season on the 60-day IL instead. That was followed by an oblique strain that sidelined him again until August.
When he returned, as Steven mentions in his review, he was hungry to contribute on offense, and so he did. Unfortunately, he would lose most of the rest of the season to a hamstring injury.
Just the worst luck, all around, but he did have a couple of memorable dingers and defensive plays when he was healthy. Unfortunately that was a small fraction of the year. So I’m going to give Encarnación’s 2025 season an incomplete, instead of a letter grade. Here’s hoping we get to see him for a full season in 2026 to try it again.
How did you feel about Jerar Encarnación’s 2025 season? And what were your favorite highlights?
