Signing day is coming up Dec. 3 and Oregon has a projected class of 19 high school seniors ready to make their commitment official.
With 18 seniors and 21 juniors on the current roster, the Ducks have a pretty good idea of where their holes will be next season and beyond, though there could still be some potential early departures.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementOregon has many underclassman eligible to enter the NFL Draft if they choose, including juniors tight end Kenyon Sadiq, outside linebackers Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti and safety Dillon Thieneman, and third-year sophomore QB Dante Moore.
With that said, here's a look at some position groups that will or could need to be fortified this recruiting cycle, either through the high school ranks or transfer portal.
Oregon football’s recruiting needs
Offensive line – The Ducks’ offense will take a massive hit up front once the season ends. For certain they’ll lose three starters and two key reserves, all of whom are redshirt seniors.

Backup center Charlie Pickard and guard Matthew Bedford are also gone. Starting center Iapani Laloulu is a junior but could test the NFL Draft waters after putting together a second-straight impressive season.
Starting right guard Dave Iuli is expected to return, and Oregon has a couple other players who’ve seen playing time this season in Gernorris Wilson, Fox Crader and Kawika Rogers.
Wide receiver – This position group went from one of the deepest on the team in August to Oregon’s most depleted as injuries started to mount. Six receivers were listed as “out” for the Ducks’ regular-season finale against Washington on Nov. 29. That depth will take a hit when the season ends as well.

The assumption is senior Evan Stewart will get a redshirt for missing all of 2025, but if he returns, he’ll do so on a surgically reconstructed knee. Justius Lowe and Kyler Kasper are redshirt juniors who, when healthy, are deep down the depth chart, and redshirt freshmen Dillon Gresham and Jack Ressler have been out all season with undisclosed injuries.
Expected back is Dakorien Moore, who was having an entertaining freshman season before a knee injury kept him out of the last four games. Redshirt freshman Jeremiah McClellan has emerged as legit starter with nine catches for 167 yards and a touchdown over the last three games.
Outside linebacker – There are no seniors among the eight players listed at this position, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be departures and holes to fill.
Juniors Uiagalelei and Tuioti are both serious threats to leave early and enter the NFL Draft, putting the Ducks in position where they need to replace their two best pass rushers and edge setters.

Specialists – Oregon will be losing its starting kicker and starting punter and both of their backups.
Kicker Atticus Sappington and punter James Ferguson-Reynolds are both seniors, as are kicker Andrew Boyle and punter Ross James.
Also leaving is Luke Basso, Oregon’s long snapper since 2022.
The Ducks’ roster will be down to three walk-on specialists: kickers Gage Hurych and Rocco Graziano, long snapper Nick Duzansky, and no punters.
