Richmond is once again the No. 1 team in the women’s Other Top 25 this week. The Spiders were followed by Princeton, who jumped from No. 4 to No. 2. Fairfield and South Dakota St. each slid back one spot. James Madison moved up one to round out the top five.

Davidson moved up to six and was the first of three straight Atlantic 10 teams, with Rhode Island at seventh and George Mason eighth. Troy elevated into the top 10 at No. 9. South Florida dropped three spots to 10th.

Belmont and Harvard were the next two, with a pair of Mountain West teams following in UNLV and Colorado St. Ball St. jumped to 15, and Santa Clara was No. 16. Massachusetts and Columbia held steady at 17th and 18th. Saint Joseph’s and Montana St. rounded out the top 20.

North Dakota St. and Rice joined the ranking and came in at Nos. 21 and 22. They replaced Oregon St. and Temple. UTSA, Green Bay and Quinnipiac were in the final three spots.

The Spiders are 36th in the initial NET rankings and 38th in BartTorvik. They split their two games in the Cancun Challenge with a win over Green Bay and a loss to TCU, who was ranked No. 8 in the AP Top 25.

Princeton came in at 29th in the NET and 39th in Torvik. The Tigers are 7-1 and have won five straight games. They knocked off Rhode Island on the road and DePaul at home last week. They have a loaded upcoming schedule with consecutive games against Seton Hall, Belmont, Rutgers and George Mason.

The Stags split their two games last week. They defeated New Haven and then came up short against Iowa, who was No. 11 in the AP poll, despite shooting a program-record 18 3-pointers.

The Jackrabbits suffered their first two losses against No. 12 North Carolina and Columbia before bouncing back with a win over Kansas St. in the Cancun Challenge.

JMU has won three straight games against power-conference foes. It defeated Virginia Tech, Boston College and Wisconsin. The last two came at the Daytona Beach Classic.
