Middle Tennessee State football coach Derek Mason will return for the 2026 season, as the Blue Raiders enter the final game of the regular season with a 2-9 record (1-6 in Conference USA).
MTSU Athletic Director Chris Massaro confirmed to The Daily News Journal following a 31-17 win at home over Sam Houston State on Nov. 22. The Blue Raiders had previously lost seven consecutive games, three of which came by three points or less.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMason is 5-18 in his tenure as MTSU coach as he closes out the second year of a five-year contract. The Blue Raiders travel to New Mexico State (4-7) for the final game of the season on Nov. 29.
