They have done so well that they have seen people even depart to get their own teams to run, like assistant turned full-time general manager for the Las Vegas Raiders, John Spytek.
Despite all their recent success, the injury bug has derailed their season as they have dropped from 5-1 at one point to 6-5 after Week 12.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThat being said, they have made some surprising picks in recent years, and because of that the needs on the roster remain the same for the most part. For them specifically, the pass rush is a need, but so are some other positions where playmakers could come in handy. Bleacher Report's Scouting Department went through all the team needs for every NFL team, and in the Bucs' case, they see tight end as the latest position of need.
They explain, "Tight ends have been discussed a couple of times for the Buccaneers, but let's continue to work down B/R's big board and explore options in case Jason Licht prioritizes other positions in the draft. While Delp and Wright receive plenty of attention playing in the SEC, the Cincinnati product is more of an 'under the radar' prospect whom people in Tampa Bay might want to keep an eye on."
They also listed linebacker and edge defender as a need for the team. While tight end can be seen as a target for them in the upcoming draft, it may be third on the list of positions mentioned. Cade Otton has been what the Bucs need out of the position, but a dynamic playmaker is always welcome if they can find one.
